Harvest Wine Weekend - Wine Tours and Accomodations
Paso Harvest Wine Weekend: Where to Stay
Forget the tour bus crowds and nightmarish traffic of Napa and Sonoma. This harvest season, it’s all about Paso wine country. From October 20-22, Paso Robles will completely transform for Harvest Wine Weekend.
Paso is California’s fastest-growing wine region, with 26,000 acres of vineyards and 200+ wineries. Sure, the vibe here is a bit cowboy-meets-winemaker, but the wines produced here rival those from iconic U.S. wine regions.
October might be several weeks away, but it’s never too early to start thinking about your accommodations. Over the years, we’ve become pretty familiar with the hotels in Paso Robles and in the surrounding Central Coast.
If you want to treat yourself…
11680 Chimney Rock Road, Paso Robles, CA
805-238-6932
First planted in 1981, JUSTIN Vineyards & Winery is one of the most revered wineries in the Central Coast. Today, they’re known for their world-class Bordeaux-style blends, among other award-winners.
In 2013, JUSTIN Vineyards underwent a major redesign and opened up a tasting room that offers sweeping views of the natural landscape, a gorgeous restaurant and upgraded rooms in the JUST Inn Suites.
Their three suites are located a short walk from the tasting room and restaurant. Each suite is outfitted with sleek, contemporary decor, fireplaces and hotel linens, with breathtaking vineyard views. An overnight stay at The JUST Inn includes breakfast and a tour of the winery and caves. That’s right: caves. Suites start at $375 per night.
Or, if you’re looking to take it up a notch, book the Vintner’s Villa: a 1,400 square foot French country villa located on the second story of their production facility, a quarter mile from the tasting room. The Villa has one upstairs bedroom, and the downstairs living room has a queen size sofa bed. You’ll get access to an entire home, complete with a full kitchen and dining room, and you’ll be completely surrounded by vineyards. $575 per night.
Maybe you really want to splurge. If that’s the case, check out The Chateau at JUSTIN. The 12,000 square foot mansion is an ideal wine country vacation rental. It’s located atop a hill overlooking the winery and boasts four bedrooms, six bathrooms, a chef’s kitchen, dining room, lavish living area and a library. $2,600 per night.
